This testing kit is capable of
test insulation in
transformers, particulars between turns, coil to coil which should be able to
withstand surges due to transients, example, caused
by switching of inductive loads or by lighting strokes.
Transient high voltage pulses are applied instead of testing with continuous voltage (50
Hz.) or DC thereby, simulating actual fault
conditions. The rapid rise time permits
the detection of
insufficient insulation that continuous voltage
testing will not be able to detect.
Solid state electronic control circuitry is provided to
generate pulses at a rate of either 6 / mins. or 12 / mins. Successive
pulses are limited to 50. After the 50th cycle the set automatically gets tripped off.
Single over voltage pulse can also be applied with
a specific push button operation. One voltmeter
will indicate
the amplitude of the output pulse. Pulse will appear between
H. V. output terminal and ground.
Output can be of either polarity
i.e. positive or negative, selectable by polarity select
switch.

PinHole Tester for super enameled wire has following features:
Operation Voltage : 230 volts, 50 C/S, 1 phase, AC.
Drive
Speed
: Constant at 30
cms/second driven by synchronous motor.
Reeling
: Will have sets
of nylon pulleys and drum to drive wire sample inside
mercury
pool.
Drive
: The linear speed
will be 30 cms/sec. + 10%.
Sensitivity
: The relay will
be factory adjusted for sensitivity as required.
Supplies
: Internal
auxiliary supply will be there to generate 24 volts DC or 50 volts DC
for the main test, to drive electronic gears, to drive
relay etc.
Stopping Mechanism :
The drive will be stopped after certain duration by a timer
.By this time only
50 meters of wires tested through the * Mercury Pool.

forward and reverse blocking voltage, DC triggering characteristics,
ON state current conduction & voltage drop measurement on SCR
under test.
