Interconnection Sockets In Booster Transformer
BOOSTER TRANSFORMER WITH REGULATOR

NTPL manufactures over 60 different types of test and measuring instruments. Booster Transformer are copper wound of suitable test voltage & Capacity depending on the Transformer under test. NTPL manufacture a wide range of booster transformers starting from 50 KVA to 500 KVA for Testing Distribution and power Transformer up to 5MVA for which Mains Input Voltage is 415 V,3 Phase AC.
TECHNICAL PARAMETERS :
- Input: 415V,3Phase, 4 wire,50Hz AC.
- Output : 440V-660V-880V-2640V or 2750 3Phase,4 wire, 50Hz AC
- Current & Voltage selection by link arrangement will be rugged & the link arrangement chamber will be provided with safety interlock.
- The nominal flux density in any part of the core will not exceed 1.5 Tesla at working Voltage.
- Current density for HV and LV are kept low to enable Temperature rise test of the transformer under test
- The Transformers are liberally designed to have minimum electrical clearance between the winding and body of the tank
- The insulating oil complies with the requirements of relevant standards IS.
- Like current density the oil volume is kept in such a manner that temperature rise over ambient will not exceed the limits.
- Top oil temperature rise measured by thermometer : 35 °C
- Winding temperature rise measured by resistance : 40 °C
- Designed for continuous full load operation at 55 deg.C average ambient temperatures
- Cooling: Natural oil and natural air convection (ONAN).
- Provided with lifting lugs(Minimum 4 positions),tank filling and emptying valves and earthing bolts.
- Oil level sight indicator and temperature indicator on tank.
- Supplied with first filling of oil
- Provisions of Interconnections are there to connect Regulators and control measurement units for making a complete Load No Load Test Bench
REGULATOR
The Regulator is also provided with the Booster Transformer. The regulator unit always have the matching capacity with the booster transformer. The Regulator generally have the following criteria’s:
- zero-start & overrun interlocking, motorised operation.
- Current rating depending on the booster transformer capacity for continuous operation.
- Complete with protection CT.
- The Set is supplied with First filling of oil.
- Generally fitted on Cast Iron wheel.
Note : NTPL make Booster Transformer of much higher capacity for which Main Supply Voltage may be 6.6kV, 11kV as required.

BOOSTER TRANSFORMER FOR GENERATOR AND TRANSFORMER CORE FLUX TESTING
Technical Specification:
Primary Voltage : 11KV single phase 50 Hz, AC.
Max. acceptable Input voltage 12 kV.
Secondary Voltage : 7.2 KV single phase, 50Hz, AC.
The secondary winding will be tapped at every 600V intervals i.e. at 600V, 1200V, 1800V, 2400V, 3000V, 3600V, 4200V, 4800V, 5400V, 6000V, 6600V and finish at 7200 Volts.
Secondary tap voltages will be brought out through across pair of bushings (Starting end and the tap selected) with proper OFF load link arrangement. Link arrangement is brought out on proper insulated support and housed within a chamber.
Capacity : 3.6. MVA Max at 7.2KV. i.e. Max. Secondary current at any tap being 500 Amps.
Duty Cycle : Intermitent i.e. 30mins. ON/30mins. OFF.
Cooling : Oil Natural.
The Transformer will be provided with standard features like oil in & oil drain out valve, Conservator tank, Silica Gel breather, explosion vent, Thermometer pocket, Oil Temperature indicator, Rating Plate etc.
At the time of testing, to know the excitation current & voltage, a CT & PT operated integrated measurement system will be used.
Digital Voltmeter : Range: 10KV (effective range: 7.2KV), Resolution: 0.01KV.
Digital Ammeter: 0 –500A, Resolution: 1A.
