APPLICATION:

“NTPL” make DC High Voltage Test Set is suitable for conducting Proof Tests and Insulation Tests on electrical installation, Bus bars, condensers, PIV of diodes, switchgears, machineries and many other items like transformers, motors etc. for which the test parameters are within the technical scope of output of the test set. The set is capable of giving continuously variable High voltage from zero to 80KV DC.

TECHNICAL Specification:

Input Voltage    :              230 Volts, 50 Hz, 1 Phase AC.

Output Voltage :              Continuously variable 0 to 80 KV DC.

Capacity              :              10mA max. at HT side.

Duty                     :              The Test Set will be designed for Intermittent rating, as per requirement of test

Intervals i.e. 5 mins ON, 10 mins. OFF .

• Tripping current adjustable at 1mA & 10mA DC.
• Over Voltage Indication provided.

The Set consists of 2 units:

1. Control & Measurement Unit.
2. DC HV Assembly Unit.

CONTROL& MEASUREMENT UNIT:

• Power Mains ON – OFF switch & Fuse/
• ‘MAINS ON’ lamp indication.
• ‘HT ON’ & ‘HT OFF’ push buttons.
• ‘HT ON’ lamp indication.
• Continuously variable autotransformer of suitable capacity to increase/decrease the output test voltage up to the required voltage level. 

METERING:

• Output DC High Voltage is measured by means of properly designed Potential Divider and digital readout unit with proper scaling factor. The HV arm of potential divider is an integrated part of DC high voltage assembly. Resolution: 0.1KV.
• Digital milliammeter along with ‘PRESS TO READ mA’ push button to read the leakage current. Resolution: 0.1mA

INTERLOCKS & PROTECTION:

• Zero start interlocking will be provided to ensure that the HV circuit cannot be energised unless the regulator is initially kept or brought back to zero position.
• Automatic tripping mechanism for protecting the DC HV Test Set & DUT against over loading. The tripping mechanism can be adjusted at values as mentioned above. After tripping, High Voltage will be switched OFF.
• In case the voltage exceeds the maximum rated value a lamp & buzzer will indicate over voltage.

The Unit will be Compact, Lightweight and portable housed within a metal enclosure /tough case with sturdy lifting handles for ease of carrying. 

DC HV assembly SECTION:

• This Unit consists of HV Transformer, Capacitor Bank, Diode Bank, and Resistance Bank that are mounted on MS trolley within insulated jacket.
• The DC HV Assembly used in the Test Set will be cast resin type and of suitable capacity, designed to withstand frequent intermittent spark over or short circuit conditions under which these are designed to operate.
• DC High Voltage of low ripple is obtained by multiplication of relatively low AC High voltage with proper multiplier circuits. High Voltage diode bank along with surge suppressor are used in conjunction with high voltage capacitors as multiplier circuits. The output will have resistance in series to limit high inrush of current.
