“NTPL” make DC High Voltage Test Set is suitable for conducting High Voltage (Hi-Pot) test on electrical installation, HT cables, Bus bars, condensers, PIV of diodes, switchgears, machineries and many other items like transformers, motors etc. for which the test parameters are within the technical scope of output of the test set. The set is capable of giving continuously variable High voltage from zero to 80 kV DC.

 

TECHNICAL FEATURES:

Input               :           230 Volts, 50Hz, single phase AC.

Output            :           Continuously variable from zero to 80KV DC. Capacity       :           20 mA max. at HT side.

Duty                :           Intermittent duty cycle, i.e., 5 mins ON, 10 mins. OFF. Unit :           Two.

  • Tripping current adjustable at 2mA & 20mA
  • Over Voltage Indication

 

The Set consists of 2 units:

  1. Control & Measurement Unit
  2. DC HV Assembly

CONTROL & MEASUREMENT UNIT:

  • Power Mains ON–OFF operation is done by means of an ON–OFF switch along with ‘MAINS ON’ lamp indication &
  • ‘HT’ ON–OFF push buttons along with ‘HT ON’ lamp
  • Continuously variable autotransformer of suitable capacity to increase/decrease the output test voltage up to the required voltage
  • Zero start interlocking will be provided to ensure that the HV circuit cannot be energised unless the regulator is initially kept or brought back to zero
  • Automatic tripping mechanism for protecting the DC HV unit (Transformer & DC Add-on block) against over loading. The tripping mechanism can be adjusted at values as mentioned above. After tripping, High Voltage will be switched OFF.
  • In case of over voltage a lamp & buzzer will indicate over voltage for DC
  • Output DC High Voltage is measured by means of properly designed Potential Divider and digital readout unit with proper scaling factor. The HV arm of potential divider is an integrated part of DC high voltage
  • Digital milliammeter along with ‘PRESS TO READ mA’ push button for measurement of leakage current.

The whole control circuitry will be housed within a sheet metal cabinet treated properly and powder coated.

DC HV ASSEMBLY UNIT:

This Unit consists of HV Transformer, Capacitor Bank, Diode Bank, and Resistance Bank that are mounted on MS trolley within insulated jacket.

The DC HV Assembly used in the Test Set will be cast resin type and of suitable capacity, designed to withstand frequent intermittent spark over or short circuit conditions under which these are designed to operate.

DC High Voltage of low ripple is obtained by multiplication of relatively low AC high voltage with proper multiplier circuits. High Voltage diode bank along with surge suppressor are used in conjunction with high voltage capacitors as multiplier circuits. The output will have impedance in series to limit high inrush of current.

ACCESSORIES:

The set will be provided with 3-pin plug, interconnecting cable, discharge rod with grounding cable.

DOCUMENTS:

Operation Manual, Works Test Report, Warrantee Certificate will be supplied along with the set.
