This Test set up consists of the following which covers the minimum features as described below.
The Test Set-up consists of the following sections:
1. PD Free High Voltage Test Transformer
2. Calibration Injection Capacitor rated for 100 kV, 100 pF and PD Level < 2 pC at 100 kV
3. Dedicated HV Filter
4. Digital Partial Discharge RIV Detector.
5. RF Shielded Room of size ( L x W x H ) : 4m x 4m x 3.5m
6. C and Tan Delta measurement system with Earth Pit
1. PD Free High Voltage Test Transformer complete with following accessories / features:
- Rated for 0-100 kV, 200 mA, 20 kVA output, at 50Hz. Input Voltage: 415 V ±10%, 50H2, 2- phase AC For PD Test Mode and 0-12 KV, 400mA, at 50 -150Hz Continuously Variable AC for C & Tan Delta Testing. Self PD 0 -<2 pC. for both the cases.
- Static Frequency Converter (THD < 3%) : Suitably rated, with input: 3 Phase, 415V, 50 Hz, output 415V 50 – 150Hz Single Phase Continuously Variable AC to Energise corresponding Sources.
- Double shielded isolation transformer rated for 415V, 20 kVA, Suitable for 50-150Hz operation.
- Low Voltage Filter rated for 475V, 50 Amps.
- Computerised control panel for automatic operation with
– Source PD Level : <2 pC at 100 kV
– Protected against over current and short circuit
– Duty Cycle : 30 min. ON / 30 min. OFF - Compliance with IEC 60060 Part 1 & 2 latest edition / amendment.
2. Calibration Injection Capacitor :
- Rated Voltage : 100 kV
- Rated Capacitance : 100 pF
- PD Level : <2 pC at 100 kV
3. HV Filter with following features :
- Voltage : 100 kV
- Current : 200 mA
- Attenuation level : 30-40 dB for the frequency band of 30 KHz to 1 MHz
4. A. Digital PD RIV Detector complete with :
- Wide band Amplifier Module with frequency band of 30 KHz – l MHz with provision to select lower cut off frequencies between 30 KHz – 100 KHz, Upper cut off frequencies between 100 KHz – l MHz and bandwidth <400 KHz
- Supplied with coupling capacitor cum potential divider.
- Calibrator module ranging from 2 pC – 100 pC in multiple steps
- Vertical and Horizontal gating modules
- Computerised display with the provision to select sine wave, sine loop, ellipse and straight line
- Display voltage and pC level directly
- Provision to graphically plot the PD level, Voltage with respect to time
- Provision of data record and report generation, display of results will be an integral part of the whole system through laptop (supplied with the test set up) shall be compatible for the required application
- Should fully comply with IEC 60270 latest edition / amendment
- Supplied with Impedance matching unit
- The kit has software as well as hardware to filter out noise pulses from PD pulses.
- Noise elimination from power source is ensured and demonstrated to be less than 2 pC.
- The PD measuring system has the feature to measure RIV level according to relevant ANSI standard (latest edition / amendment)
- RIV meter has tunable centre frequency of 50 kHz to 1 MHz
- Supplied with suitable RIV calibrator & RIV coupling device
5. RF Shielded Room of size 4 m L x 4 m W x 3.5 m H with following features/ accessories :
- Pre-laminated Panels of 30 mm Poly-urethane sandwiched in 20 swg. GI Sheets.
- Entire frame work for mounting panels. Material: 3 mm Steel Deep Drawn Quality CRCA sheets consisting of 4 types design W, U, Hat and Flat sections
- Columns to support external structure
- Sliding Door 2.5 m(H)x 2 m(W) with Knife edge contacts
- Single Leaf Door 7′ (H) x 3′ (W)
- 230 VAC, 50 Hz, 10 A power line Filter
- Shielding Attenuation : 60 dB in the frequency band of 30 kHz to 1 MHz.
- Earthing / test area isolation etc.: design and execution by NTPL to ensure ambient noise level in the test lab to be <2 pC.
A list of all equipment/ components which are under the scope of calibration shall be enclosed along with annexure – A
METERING
- Output test Voltage scaled in KV connected to the low voltage arm of the HV Coupling Capacitor cum Potential Divider to measure the output High Voltage. Resolution: 0.1KV.
- Current in milliampere to read the leakage current. Resolution : 0.1mA
PROTECTION & INTERLOCK :
- Zero start interlocking will be provided to ensure that the HV circuit cannot be energised unless the regulator is initially kept or brought back to zero position.
- Enclosure interlocking will be provided i.e. high voltage circuit cannot be energised unless the door of the enclosure is closed. However, this interlock can be by-passed by shorting corresponding terminals.
- Fast acting actuation of HV circuit when HT current exceeds the per-set max. permissible limit. This tripping mechanism can be adjusted at different values as mentioned before.
- In case the output voltage crosses the maximum limit indication of over voltage will be there and the voltage increase mode circuit will not function further.
- Surge Protection will be provided wherever it is required for safe and smooth operation of the system.
- Fast acting Tripping Protection against flashovers and breakdown of test object.
The whole control circuitry will be housed within a sheet metal cabinet treated properly and powder coated.
Operating temperature range : 5 – 450 C
Humidity Range : 80% non-condensing.

DISCHARGE ROD :
ln AC High Voltage test, after testing, However, for device under test having the device under test is normally discharged through transformer winding’ large capacitance a discharge rod may be used and hence it is provided with the set.
POWER & INTERCONNECTING CABLES :
power cables, interconnecting cables along with suitable plug & sockets are provided.
DOCUMENTS :
Operation Manual, Works Test Report, Warrantee Certificate will be supplied along with the set.
