The above Test Equipment is suitably designed and manufactured to test AC High Voltage Power Frequency {HVPF) dielectric withstand test on all type of electrical equipment like transformer, motor, generator, switchgear, cable etc. considering the testing parameter requirement is within the output scope of this test equipment. The Test Set-up is capable of giving continuously variable High voltage from zero to 30 KV AC.

APPLICATION:

The above Test Equipment is suitably designed and manufactured to test AC High Voltage Power Frequency {HVPF) dielectric withstand test on all type of electrical equipment like transformer, motor, generator, switchgear, cable etc. considering the testing parameter requirement is within the output scope of this test equipment. The Test Set-up is capable of giving continuously variable High voltage from zero to 30 KV AC.

 

TECHNICAL Specification:

Mains Input Power Supply                          :              415 Volts, 50 Hz, 2 Phase of 3 phase AC system.

Output Voltage                                               :              Continuously variable 0 to 30 KV AC.

Max. Permissible Leakage Current            :              1A max. at HT side.

Duty Cycle                                                       :              Intermittent duty cycle, i.e., 5 mins. ON, 10 mins. OFF.

  • Output voltage variation: By means of motor driven arrangement of voltage regulator.
  • Rate of rise of output voltage: 1KV/sec.
  • Over load Tripping adjustment: At 125mA, 250mA, 500mA & 1000mA AC.
  • Over Voltage Indication & Interlock Protection provided.

 

The above test kit will be in multiple units i.e.

  1. Control & Measurement Unit.
  2.  Regulator.

  1. Control & Measurement Unit:
  • Power Mains ON – OFF operation is done by means of
  • Control ON-OFF switch along with fuse protection.
  • Isolation transformer for control operation, auxiliary supply to meters and power supply for electronic PCBs.
  • ‘HT ON-OFF’ push button.
  • ‘EMERGENCY OFF’ mushroom type push button
  • Increase/Decrease circuit to control motor operated Voltage Regulator. When high voltage circuit is switched ON the regulator will rotate to increase the output voltage when ‘INCREASE’ push is pressed ON or decrease the output voltage when ‘decrease’ push is pressed.

LAMP INDICATION:

‘MAINS ON, ‘CONTROL ON’, ‘HT ON’, ‘EARTH OPEN’, REG NOT AT ZERO’, ‘DOOR INTERLOCK’, OVER VOLTAGE’,’TRIP’

METERING:

  • CT operated Digital AC Ammeter to measure the current at the input side.
  • Digital voltmeter generally connected to the LT side and scaled in KV. Resolution: 0.1kV.
  • CT operated Digital AC Ammeter with ‘PRESS TO READ mA’ push connected to the earth potential end of the HV Transformer to measure the HT current. Resolution: 1mA.
  • A ‘TIMER’ (0-999secs) will be provided to measure the duration of applied HV. After completion of the test time the regulator will automatically decrease to zero position. ‘RESET’ feature of the ‘TIMER’ will be provided.

INTERLOCK&PROTECTION:

  • Earth Interlock. i.e. HV circuit cannot be energised unless the Test Set-up is properly earthed.
  • Zero start interlock i.e. HV circuit cannot be energised unless the regulator is initially kept or brought back to zero position.
  • Door/Enclosure Interlock i.e. HV Test Equipment & sample under test should be kept within an enclosure. High voltage circuit cannot be energised unless the door of the enclosure is closed. However, this interlock can be by-passed by shorting corresponding terminals.
  • Minimum & Maximum position interlock for Voltage Regulator.
  • Automatic tripping mechanism for protecting the HV transformer against over loading. The tripping mechanism can be adjusted at values as mentioned above. In addition to that, a protective device against overloading will be provided in the regulator output side and that will be set at maximum permissible loading in the regulator output side.
  • Visual and audible alarms to alert the operator upon failure will be provided.The HT circuit will get latched and ‘TRIP’ indication lamp will glow along with audible alarm. ’RESET’ push will release the circuit latching.
  • In case the output voltage crosses the maximum rated value a lamp & a buzzer will indicate over voltage and the increase mode circuit will not function further, even if ‘PRESS TO INCREASE’ push is pressed.

The whole control circuitry will be housed within a sheet metal cabinet powder coated.

 

  1. VOLTAGE REGULATOR:

Continuously variable motorised voltage regulator of suitable capacity &control circuitry will be provided to increase & decrease the test voltage. Minimum & maximum position interlock will be provided so that limit switch will automatically disconnect Increase/Decrease circuit of motor connection at maximum and minimum position respectively.

Over voltage protection i.e. in case the output voltage crosses the maximum rated value a buzzer will indicate over voltage and the increase mode circuit will not function further, even if ‘PRESS TO INCREASE’ push is pressed.

 

  1. 3. HV TRANSFORMER:

HV Transformer used in the test set will be oil natural cooled type and of suitable capacity. One end of the high voltage winding will get earth connection through a CT operated Ammeter & protective device while the other end will be connected to HT terminal.

The HT will be brought out on suitable HT terminal provided with corona guard and LT connections will be brought out through suitable LT bushings. The transformer will be designed to withstand frequent intermittent spark over or short circuit conditions under which such testing transformers are designed to operate.

ACCESSORIES:

Discharge ROD:

In AC High Voltage test, after testing, the device under test is normally discharged through transformer winding. However, for device under test having large capacitance a discharge rod may be used and hence it is provided with the set.

CABLES:

Power Supply Main Leads-5M, Earth leads-10M, Cables with due termination on multiway Terminal block for interconnection between the Test Units-5M. The cables will be provided with suitable connector and clips.

Carrying case will be provided for cables.

 

DOCUMENTS:

Operation Manual, Works Test Report, Warrantee Certificate will be supplied along with the set.
