“NTPL” MAKE 3KV OR 5KV AC HIGH VOLTAGE BREAKDOWN TEST SET

“NTPL” make 3KV (BDVMN03S) or 5KV (BDVMN05S) AC High Voltage Test Set is suitable for Breakdown/ withstand test of electrical & electronic components, materials, equipment, panel boards etc.

Technical Features:

Input          :     230 Volts, single phase, 50Hz, AC.

Output       :     Continuously variable from 0 to 3KV for 3KV BDV Tester & 0 to 5KV for 5KV BDV Tester.

Capacity     :     50mA max. at HT side.

Duty           :     Intermittent i.e. 5 minutes ON, 10 minutes. OFF.

Output voltage variation : By means of manual rotation of regulator.

Over load tripping adjustment : At 25mA & 50mA.

The above test kit will be in single units and will be provided with the following components.

• Power Mains ON – OFF operation is done by means of an ON – OFF switch along with ‘MAINS ON’ lamp indication & Fuse.
• ‘HT’ ON – OFF push buttons along with ‘HT ON’ lamp indication.
• Continuously variable autotransformer of suitable capacity to increase the output test voltage up to the required voltage level.
• Zero start interlocking will be provided to ensure that the HV circuit cannot be energized unless the regulator is initially kept or brought back to zero position.
• Automatic tripping mechanism for protecting the HV transformer against over loading. The tripping mechanism can be adjusted at different values as mentioned above. After tripping, High Voltage will be switched OFF.
• Analog voltmeter connected to the LT side and scaled in KV meter.
• Analog milliammeter along with ‘PRESS TO READ mA’ push button to read the leakage current.
• Memory device enables the KV meter of the Test Set to indicate the breakdown voltage by pressing the ‘MEMORY’ push button even after high voltage circuit is tripped OFF.
• The Test Set will be provided with HV probes. One of the probes will be connected to the HV end while the other will be connected to earth potential.

HV Transformer:

HV Transformer used in the Test Set will be cast resin type of suitable capacity. The HV winding is of graded insulation, one end being connected to the earth potential through a milliammeter circuit & tripping device, while the other end remains in floating condition as HT potential.

The transformer will be designed to withstand frequent intermittent spark over or short circuit conditions under which such testing transformers are designed to operate.

The whole control circuitry will be housed within a sheet metal cabinet treated with anti-corrosive prima and powder coated.
